Lil Wayne said a milli, we say a billi! In just its second week of airing, Netflix’s MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS has reached the illustrious ‘Billion Minute Club’ joining the likes of Reacher, The Crown, and Suits. “Literally what is happening,” says Jaylan, “I am so thrilled people are enjoying our cute little series tackling the teenage journey we’re all so familiar with. It makes my heart gush knowing people connected with our characters and love our series. I could not be more thankful, grateful, humbled… just blessed… thank you, God.”

MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS has been renewed for Season 2 just days after its global release on Netflix. The series is currently #1 trending on the streamer’s platform in 88 countries worldwide. Jaylan cannot wait to get back on set, see his friends, and dive back into the life of Silver Falls and the beautiful characters it encompasses. “Let’s get to work,” says Jaylan.

MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS debuts at #1 in Netflix’s Top 10 USA TV Shows. Jaylan states, “While elated, I’m not surprised. What we created last summer was so special. I knew it the moment I stepped foot on set. From the cast to the crew, and the entire village that did their part to make this possible. Still, though, it is pretty surreal. This is truly beyond my wildest dreams.”

Hometown cover story! Jaylan is so humbled to have been given the cover feature of his hometown’s newspaper of Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as a digital write up. Jaylan sat down with Jessie and Woody to talk all things Greensboro, North Carolina, The Walter Boys, and what it's been like gearing up for the release. This moment in Jaylan’s life is calling for lots of reflection and solitude; and he is so grateful for his family, friends, and his hometown village for fostering a young boy, encouraging him to chase his dreams. From the talent shows at Pearce Elementary and Kernodle Middle School, to his drama training at Weaver Academy and UNCSA, to getting his BFA down the street in Elon. He believes this state is a hidden gem and has proven time again that it creates superstars, creatively and academically. “Big ups NC!”

SAG AFTRA Strike Lifted​
​
After 118 days, SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP have reached a tentative agreement, lifting the actor's union strike, which commenced on July 14th, 2023. On November 9th, 12:01 AM all union members can resume operations and will begin voting to ratify the newly negotiated contract. Jaylan would like to thank Fran Drescher, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, the Strike Captains, and entire negotiating committee for their immense amounts of hard work and persistence in getting the contract he and his fellow union members deserve.
Emmy Nominations​

SPIRIT RANGERS has been garnered 7 nominations at the 2nd annual Children’s and Family Emmy Awards for Seasons 1 and 2. Jaylan would like to thank series’ showrunner and creator, Karissa Valencia, for allowing him to be a part of this project, the team at Netflix, Super Prod Animation, and the Television Academy for this recognition. “Congratulations to our cast and crew!”

Always Something There, a new musical
Industry Reading

Jaylan is so thrilled to have partaken in the second industry reading of a new jukebox musical, Always Something There, playing the role of DUCKIE, the drummer in the show's lead band. One could say it's the feminist-Back To The Future; this musical juggles life between present day and the most eclectic decade - the 80s. Featuring hits from icons like Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Pat Benatar, Always Something There reflects on change, decisions, and what our heart truly desires. If you could go back in time and change one small instance, thus altering "life as you knew it," would you? Jaylan would like to thank Director, James Vásquez, Writer, Sandy Rustin (Broadway's The Cottage Play), Arranger/Orchestrator, Geoffrey Ko (Broadway's The Notebook Musical), Music Director, Andy Collopy, Jillian, Mel, Noelle, Fernando, Marques, the entire cast, and our rockstar producers: Michael Barra and Allison Bressi at Lively McCabe Entertainment.
Somewhere Over the Brooklyn Bridge​
​
After five years, Jaylan cannot express enough joy and gratitude to have shared the stage with his childhood best-friend, Noelle Cornelius, in her debut solo-show, Somewhere Over the Brooklyn Bridge at the Green Room 42 in New York City. Noelle and Jaylan met their freshman year of high school at Weaver Academy, for the Performing and Visual arts, in downtown Greensboro. The two then went on to study Music Theatre at Elon University, and even Classical Acting across the pond for a semester abroad in London, United Kingdom. Jaylan states: "Noelle is one of one, the only one, and I would like to thank her for ten special, beautiful years of friendship, and the many more to come. "Tonight, we celebrate the star that is Noelle Cornelius. I love you, Noelle!"

Announced today, Spirit Rangers has been picked up for Season 3. Jaylan is elated to continue on this series and would like to thank Karissa Valencia for her constant hard-work, love, and support she unconditionally brings to this project.

Spirit Rangers is coming back for Season 2, airing May 8th on Netflix. Jaylan returns in several episodes as Condor and Gem. He is so excited to continue highlighting the stories of Indigenous Peoples for another season following the show's initial drop last fall.
